Sisters of the Southern Moon
The group, Sisters of the Southern Moon, hail from the Piedmont of Virginia. Their teacher and leader is Shalimar. They do not dance together or practice together as a troupe but rather have learned this routine at 4 different classes in two different cities. They come together to dance at nursing homes, non-profit organizations, hafla’s and even on a Belly Dancing Cruise.
They are dancing tonight to a fun piece of music by Gogol Bordello called Start Wearing Purple and they are calling tonight’s style of belly dance fushion: Gypsy Punk.
